More details on Quantity Discount

The price is per original tape, duration does not matter.
30 minutes , 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes, same price per tape.

Up to 60 minutes cassette tape will be converted to one audio CD (side A & B will be on a single CD).
90 minutes and longer cassette tape will be transferred to a set of two discs.
(one CD for side A and another or side B) - the price is still the same ($15.95 for a set of two CDs).

For ex, a 60 minutes cassette tape will be converted to a single audio CD at $15.95.
A 90 minutes tape will be converted to a set of two CDs (side A & side B), still the price is the same, $15.95.

The price includes an audio CD (or CDs).
Your original cassette tape(s) will be returned.

An additional copy of the audio CD is $9.95.
For a 90 minutes and longer cassette tape, we will provide a set of two CDs for the price of $9.95.

For instance, if you have a 90 minutes tape (45 minutes each side), and you want two copies -
The first original a set of two CDs (one for side A and another for side B): $15.95
A set of copy: $9.95. Total $15.95 + $9.95 = $25.90 (plus tax).
You are getting total of 4 CDs (two of two-CD sets).

We can convert a cassette tape to MP3 file, instead of audio CD.
However, we strongly recommend audio CD over MP3 files, because:
1. an audio CD contains uncompressed, much bigger and better quality sound than compressed MP3 file.
2. whenever you need, you can change the audio CD to MP3 or AAC files in iTunes.

RUSH Cassette to CD transfer service will be available at double the price of $31.90 per tape.
Please ask us before bring the tape in at our store.

Notes:

1.

The audio CD made from your cassette tape can be played on regular CD player, Boom Box, as well as PC or Mac computer.

2.

Important - We don't cut tracks for each song.
When a cassette tape has multiple songs, we can't cut tracks for each song.
Side A will be a one track and side B will be another track on a CD.

Note: DAT tape to CD conversion will have tracks as cut on the original DAT tape.
However, DAT to CD transfer will NOT be eligible for quantity discounts.

3.

Audio CD is much better than MP3 and better solution for you.

The digital music file on a CD is.cda, which is a shortcut of CD Audio.
Unlike other portable audio formats such as MP3 or AAC, the CDA file (audio CD file) is an uncompressed big file.
But the sound quality is far better than any other compressed music files.

And once you have an audio CD, you can always make a MP3 or AAC audio file with iTunes or any other audio applications
on your computer. You also can change the size of file and quality/size ratio by yourself.

Once you have MP3 file, you can't make as good sound as audio CD anymore.

4.

We can give you MP3 file, instead of an audio CD at the same price, if you prefer.

5.

If you want to Edit the file, like cut trucks, you can do so with many free digital audio editor.

Can you put a cassette tape in to my iPod, iPad or iPhone?

Unfortunately we can't, because it has to be done through your iTunes on your computer.
Apple treats iPod(or iPad, iPhone) as a player, not an archive device.

However, once your cassette tape is converted to an audio CD, transferring it to iPod is very easy thing to do.
Here is how to do it:
Put an audio CD into your computer (PC or Mac) > open iTunes > import disk > synchronize iTunes with your iPod, iPad or iPhone.

Reel to Reel Tape to CD

We don't offer Reel to reel tape to CD conversion services.

Is there any charge for a Blank tape?

No.
There is no charge for a blank tape.

What format of music file am I getting on the CD?

.cda file, which is a music audio CD format.
Music CD(.cda) is huge in file size but comes with much better sound quality, compared to MP3 or AAC.

You can easily turn it into MP3 or AAC file by a drag and drop into iTunes.

Can you convert to Mp3 file?

Yes, we convert your cassette tape to Mp3 file(s), however, we don't recommend Mp3 files.
Because .cda files on an audio CD are uncompressed full quality audio files, which reproduces the very best music quality.
Mp3 or AAC is a compressed compact version of the .cda file, because audio CD is too big for Mp3 players and for the Internet.

Also you can change the audio CD to Mp3 or AAC very easily by yourself.
You insert the audio CD to your PC or Mac, then open iTunes.
In the iTunes, go to CD, right click a file or go Edit, and change to Mp3.

How long cassette tape can be transferred to a CD?

60 minutes.
A longer than 60 minutes tape will be converted to two audio CDs (side A & side B).
The price is still $15.95 per tape, not per audio CD.

Will my original cassette tape be returned to me?

Absolutely Yes.

I am concerned about my tape's privacy and confidentiality.

We respect your privacy and confidentiality seriously.
Being in photo business since 1971, no other companies are better than us to keep customers' information tight.
-1. Most jobs are processed in-house by experienced professional technicians.
-2. The technician will only watch your tape what is necessary for quality control.
-3. Once a work is done, all temporary files will be deleted from our system.

To put it in writing, we have our Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreement Form ready for you.
You can download the form, type in your (company) name and address, and print two copies.
Sign and date both, then bring the forms with your work.
We will sign them both and return one copy for you.

Do you convert copy protected cassette to CD?

Absolutely not.

What kind of CD brand you use for my job?

We are using 3 brands for your audio tape conversion.
Maxell Music CD
(very good quality for digital audio sound)
Taiyo-Yuden Professional Grade CD-R
(pure Japanese made, Pro grade CD-R)

Can you transfer multiple cassette tapes on to a single CD?

No, we don't offer any editing services.

Will the audio CD you create play on my CD player (and a Boom box)?

Yes.
It's a regular music CD anyway.

Will the CD you create play on my PC or Mac?

Yes, it will work on your computer if your PC/Mac has a CD/DV drive.
It will work with Windows Media Player and iTunes.

Can you transfer a portion of my tape to CD?

No. We do not offer any editing services.
We will transfer whatever on the tape to a CD as a whole.

Can I get multiple copies of the DVD you create?

Of course Yes.

An extra CD is $9.95 each.

Is there any Regional code protection on the CD?

No.
No such regional code nor PAL/NTSC TV systems with audio CD.

How can I edit the audio CD?

If you want to cut or trim a portion of an audio file, mark tracks of each song, or enhance audio quality,
you can do it from the audio CD in 2 steps:
1. First, you will change the audio CD to editable file format, like MP3 or AAC.
This can be done easily by inserting an audio CD into your PC or Mac and open iTunes( free from Apple).
In the iTunes, go to the CD, select the file then change it to MP3 by right click or from Edit menu.
2. Edit the MP3 or AAC file by an audio edit software.
You can download one of these free audio editing software, and start editing as you like.
Or before downloading software, check your computer first, chances are that you have an audio editing software installed on your computer already.
If you don't have any music editing application in your system, and not sure which free software to download, Audacity might be a good start. Many people are happy with this software both on PC or Mac.
If you don't mind paying for the software, AVS is a good choice.

iTunes shows weird CD title when I insert the audio CD in.

Depends on your iTunes preference setting, you might see a strange music CD title pops up when you insert an audio CD.
The music album tile has nothing to do with the audio CD nor you've never heard of.
iTunes tries to give a Heavy Metal Music title to my grandparent's interview CD.
Not only that, next you insert the same audio CD, you will get a different music title.

It is a annoying function for a private made CD.

This happens only when your iTunes' s "Automatically retrieve music name from internet" option is checked.
There is nothing we can do to prevent it.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the audio CD we made.

To solve this problem -
You can change the name to whatever you like by selecting the track > File > Get info > info.
or
You can disable this function by going Edit > Preference > General > un-check this option.

Transcription service - Can you make "print" from cassette tape?
Unfortunately we are not offering transcription services.
Please Google search with "Transcription service, your area"
