            FAQ - 8mm or 16mm movie
films are old and small, is it worth an HD scanning?
              Answer - Yes absolutely.
Unlike analog movies on tape such as VHS tape, 8mm/16mm movies are
series of film based frame images.
Just like Slides, Negative film or Photos, images scanned in higher
resolution results much more detailed quality.
The above sample image is a good proof.

                | Special Handling Fee |
There are 2 special handling fees:
                  1. Separation fee($5.00/reel): Separate chapters or MP4/MOV files for each reel, if you want.
                  2. Un-splicing fee($2.00/reel): Return small reels to original cases, if you want.
Unless otherwise requested, all small reels will be spliced to a single big reel for a digitization preparation purpose.

For example, 5 of 50 feet reels will come back to you as a single 250 feet reel.
Why? Because it will save a lot of movie film digitization processing time, because we don't have to change reels much less often.

This also means that you are getting a single long digital file or DVD movie of all your small reels.
(A 50 feet reel = about 3 inches across, runs about 3 minutes only. A 5 reel movie is about 15 min or shorter)
                  For DVD customers:

If you want separate chapters on a DVD disc, there will be $5.00 per reel fee:

                  For digital movie file customers:
If you want mp4 or .mov file for each reel, add $5.00 for each reel.
ex. 5 reels to 5 mp4 files - $0.24 x feet + $49.95(a setup fee) + 5x$5.00(separation fee)
                  For all customers:
If you want original reels back to original packages, there is a charge of $2.00 per reel for un-splicing fee (normally people don't use these reels anymore though).
Just to be clear, all cases will be returned free of charge, but the reels will be spliced together
unless you want them un-spliced back with $2.00/reel fee.
